Hypnobirthing is a set of tools that combine education, relaxation, breathing, mindset work and visualisation to help you feel calm, confident and in control during birth. It’s about preparing your mind and body, understanding your options, and feeling supported whatever birth looks like for you.
-
Not exactly. Some techniques feel similar (deep relaxation, focused attention), but hypnobirthing is mainly about teaching you practical tools you can use in real life; breathing, language, mindset, and nervous system regulation alongside birth education.
-
Most people start between 20–34 weeks, but you can start earlier (especially if you feel anxious) and you can still benefit later on too. Even a couple of weeks of practice can make a difference.
-
No and I would never promise that. Birth is unpredictable and there are many factors outside your control. What hypnobirthing can do is help you feel more prepared, informed, and empowered so you can respond to whatever happens with more confidence and calm.
-
Not at all. Hypnobirthing works for any planned birth setting; home, birth centre, hospital, elective C-section, planned induction, and everything in between.
-
Is hypnobirthing “anti-medical” or anti-pain relief?
No. Hypnobirthing is not about being “crunchy” or refusing interventions. It’s about understanding your options, feeling confident to advocate for yourself, and having tools that support you whether you choose an epidural, gas and air, induction, or a C-section.
-
No! It’s never “too late” to prepare. We’ll focus on the highest-impact tools you can use immediately, plus a simple practice plan that fits your timeline.
-
Daily practice is helpful, but it doesn’t need to be intense. Even 5–10 minutes of breathing/relaxation a day builds the habit. I’ll show you how to practise in a realistic way (including on busy, tired days!).

It’s recommended, but it’s not essential. If you have a partner (or a doula, friend, or family member) who will be supporting you, involving them can be really powerful because they learn how to support you in the moment and keep your environment calm.

had a previous difficult/traumatic birth and want extra support
-
Yes. Many people use hypnobirthing tools to rebuild trust in their body and feel more in control this time. If your previous experience was traumatic, hypnobirthing can be a supportive part of your preparation, but it isn’t a replacement for therapeutic support and I can signpost you if needed.
-
Because the course includes 1:1 sessions and physical content, purchases are non-refundable once accessed/received.
For 1:1 sessions, you can reschedule with 48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations may not be refundable. -
You can still benefit from hypnobirthing tools but always follow advice from your midwife/consultant. If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to message me before booking and we’ll talk it through.
